My Journey Continues

The Power of the Word

Welcome to my personal blog, where I share my family background, childhood memories, adulthood journey, my own family, ministry life, and Christian literature. My ultimate prayer is to document the rhythms of life with absolute authenticity. Guided by the enduring truth of Philippians 4:11-13, I seek to find unwavering contentment and strength in Christ through every chapter.

Today, I want to share a chapter from my very beginning—a story for anyone who feels they do not know enough to be used by God.

Every great journey of faith begins with a single, sometimes incredibly uncertain, step. When I first became a Christian, my knowledge of the faith was limited at best. I did not have a wealth of theological answers ready on my tongue, nor did I understand the deep, historical complexities of scripture. What I did have, however, was a profound, unshakeable love for God and a burning, restless desire to serve in His ministry.

Yet, passion alone often leaves us searching for the "how." How could I actively deepen my love for Him? How could I truly learn to rely on Him in the practical steps of my daily walk? These questions echoed in my heart, looking for direction. If you are standing at the beginning of your faith journey today, looking up at the mountain of scripture and wondering how to move forward, I want to share how God answered those very same questions for me.

The answer did not come through a sudden, mystical revelation; it came through the gentle, deliberate guidance of a spiritual mentor. Pastor Saw Yan Aung saw my raw eagerness and, rather than dampening it with rigid rules, he encouraged me to dive headfirst into studying the Word. He gifted me a complete Bible, encompassing both the Old and New Testaments. I didn't hesitate. I eagerly opened its crisp pages and began my journey right at the beginning: Genesis.

As I read, the ancient scriptures sparked countless questions and reflections in my mind. It was a vast, sometimes overwhelming sea of historical information and divine law. But crucially, I was not left to navigate those deep waters alone.

This is where the true beauty of Christian discipleship shone through. Pastor Saw Yan Aung patiently listened to every single question I had—and there were many. Instead of handing me dry, academic answers from a textbook, he did something extraordinary: he explained the biblical text by drawing clear, relatable parallels with our own Myanmar culture. He bridged the massive gap between the ancient biblical world and my modern reality. Learning the Word of God through this familiar, local cultural lens was an absolute revelation. It achieved two incredible things for my young faith:

  • It Deepened Understanding: The text was no longer foreign or abstract; it felt close to home. The parables and principles suddenly had faces and places I recognized.

  • It Enabled Application: It made the profound, overarching teachings of the Bible incredibly easy to practically apply to my daily life, my family dynamics, and my interactions in my community.

Because of his wise guidance, studying the Bible stopped being a daunting academic task and transformed into a joyful, deeply fulfilling daily experience.

"When we contextualize our faith—when we see how God's ancient promises apply directly to our immediate surroundings and cultural realities—our spiritual growth accelerates."

Slowly but surely, the biblical literature began to profoundly shape who I was. The scriptures became a mirror reflecting my character's flaws and a compass guiding my most difficult decisions.

Through this beautiful, lifelong journey of seeking, questioning, and applying, God has blessed me more abundantly than I could have ever dared to imagine. That uncertain beginner, who simply wanted to find a small way to serve, has now—by God's immense and unending grace—authored 38 Christian books.

I share this milestone not to boast of my own achievements, for the glory belongs entirely to Him. I share it to offer you a word of sincere, heartfelt encouragement. Do not be discouraged if your knowledge of faith feels limited right now. If you are wondering where to start, remember these simple steps:

  1. Lean into your love for God. Let that pure devotion be your driving force.

  2. Open the Word. Do not be afraid to start reading. Let the text spark questions in your heart.

  3. Seek guidance. Find a mentor who can help translate timeless truths into your everyday cultural language.

If God can take a willing heart, a gifted Bible, and a patient mentor to produce 38 books of testimony, imagine what He is preparing to do through your faithful steps. Your limited knowledge today is simply the blank canvas for God's masterpiece tomorrow.
